American Global Freights runs its own office in Shunde District, Foshan — not an agent, not a partner, AGF staff on AGF's payroll, an hour from Guangzhou's Baiyun airport and the Nansha container port. Foshan is where a large share of what America imports from China is actually made: furniture around Lecong, ceramic tile and sanitaryware in Foshan's own industrial belt, appliances and lighting in Shunde, and the wider Pearl River Delta of Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen within a two-hour drive.

The office exists because the origin end is where shipments go wrong. A supplier who says the goods are ready when they are not; a loading plan that leaves a third of a container empty; an export declaration that does not match the invoice; a lithium-battery shipment nobody declared. Our people in Foshan see the cargo, talk to the factory in Chinese, and fix these things before a container is sealed rather than after it lands in Long Beach.

It also makes AGF unusual among US forwarders: the same company that clears your goods through US customs in Glendale supervised their loading in Guangdong. Goods from several factories gathered at one Foshan warehouse, checked against the packing lists, and loaded into one container with a loading plan built for the cube — the way most small and mid-sized importers actually buy.

Export declaration through a licensed Chinese customs broker, fumigation and phytosanitary certificates where the destination needs them, certificates of origin, and dangerous-goods declarations for batteries and chemicals.

Space on ocean carriers out of Nansha, Shekou and Yantian, air freight out of Guangzhou Baiyun and Shenzhen, trucking from the factory to the terminal, and rail bookings westbound to Central Asia.

For Kazakhstan-to-China cargo — grain, metals, meat — the office works with the Chinese importer on GACC registrations, quarantine permits and the import declaration at Alashankou and Khorgos.

Chinese New Year closes factories for two to four weeks between late January and February — book December departures by mid-December, or accept a March arrival. National Day Golden Week (1–7 October) and the Mid-Autumn and Dragon Boat holidays each cost a few days; peak-season space out of South China is tightest from July to October.

Is the Foshan office an AGF office or an agent?

It is AGF's own office, staffed by AGF employees and run by our China Branch Manager. That is different from the agent model most US forwarders use in China: the people who supervise your loading answer to the same company that issues your bill of lading and clears your goods in the USA.

Can you visit and inspect my supplier's factory?

Yes. Supplier visits in Guangdong — Foshan, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen, Zhongshan — are part of what the office does, from a readiness check before a container is booked to a pre-shipment inspection against your specification. For factories further afield we coordinate with third-party inspectors and attend the loading ourselves where it matters.

Which Chinese ports and airports do you ship from?

Most of our ocean cargo sails from Nansha (Guangzhou), Shekou and Yantian (Shenzhen), with Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao and Xiamen for factories in those regions. Air freight goes out of Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN), Shenzhen (SZX) and Hong Kong (HKG). Westbound rail to Central Asia loads at inland terminals and crosses at Alashankou and Khorgos.

Can you consolidate goods from several suppliers into one container?

Yes — it is the most common thing we do. Suppliers deliver to our Foshan warehouse or we collect; goods are checked against each packing list, consolidated under one loading plan, and shipped as one FCL under one bill of lading, which is usually cheaper and always simpler than several LCL shipments.

Do you handle Chinese export customs and paperwork?

Yes, through a licensed Chinese customs broker we work with daily: export declaration, commercial documents matched to the declaration, fumigation and phytosanitary certificates where required, certificates of origin, and dangerous-goods declarations for lithium batteries, paints and chemicals.

Can my supplier deal with you in Chinese?

Yes. The office works in Mandarin and Cantonese with factories and in English with you, and it is reachable on WeChat as well as by phone. Chinese suppliers can send documents and questions directly to our Foshan staff, which removes the usual relay through the buyer.

Shipping From or To China?
