China to Armenia Freight Forwarding

Trusted China to Armenia shipping with transparent door-to-door quotes

China is one of Armenia's largest sources of imported goods, and the corridor between them is one of the most logistically demanding routes AGF operates. Armenia is landlocked, so nothing arrives by sea directly: cargo sails from Chinese ports to Poti or Batumi in Georgia, then travels overland to Yerevan — or moves by Middle Corridor rail through Kazakhstan and across the Caspian, or flies into Zvartnots when speed matters more than cost. Armenian importers bring in everything on this lane: consumer goods and clothing, construction and finishing materials, electronics and appliances, furniture, and machinery.

AGF Advantage on This Lane

AGF is well positioned on this corridor because our own office sits at the Chinese end of it. Our Foshan office handles supplier coordination, quality inspection and consolidation in China — the half of the chain where most problems start — while our partners in Georgia and Armenia, coordinated from Glendale, manage the Georgian transit and EAEU clearance in Yerevan. For Armenian importers that means one accountable company from the Chinese factory floor to a warehouse in Yerevan, with the routing choice (ocean via Georgia, rail, or air) made on your cargo's economics rather than on whatever a single agent happens to sell.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does shipping from China to Armenia take?

Ocean freight to Poti or Batumi plus overland transit to Yerevan typically runs 45-60 days door to door, depending on the Chinese port, Suez routing and border conditions. Middle Corridor rail through Kazakhstan and across the Caspian can be faster — often 25-40 days — but availability and pricing vary; we do not book rail routings that cross Russia or Belarus. Air freight to Zvartnots delivers in about 5-10 days door to door for urgent or high-value cargo.

Why does cargo go through Georgia?

Armenia has no seaport, so ocean cargo must land at a neighbouring port. Poti and Batumi on Georgia's Black Sea coast are the standard gateways, from where goods move to Yerevan by truck under bonded customs transit. Clean transit documentation is what keeps the border crossing from becoming a delay.

What customs rules apply when importing to Armenia?

Armenia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, so the EAEU common customs tariff applies, plus 20% VAT on import. Many product categories also require EAC conformity certification for retail sale. Rates and certification scope change periodically — we flag what your specific goods need during quoting and work with Armenian brokers for exact figures.

Can you consolidate cargo from several Chinese suppliers?

Yes, and on this lane it is usually the smartest structure. Our Foshan office collects from multiple factories, inspects and consolidates into one container, so you clear customs once and pay for one shipment instead of several. LCL is available when volumes do not justify a full container.
