Larger machines move flat rack as out-of-gauge, which on this routing needs earlier booking because equipment availability to Georgian ports is thinner than on Trans-Pacific mainlines.
Ocean to Poti or Batumi runs roughly 35–45 days, then 1–2 days overland to Yerevan under bonded transit: about 45–60 days door to door. Precision surfaces need VCI wrapping and desiccants for that duration, and the crate has to survive the extra port transfer in Georgia — which is precisely where under-built Chinese crating fails.

Regulations and Compliance
EAEU customs duty and Armenian VAT
Armenia applies the EAEU common customs tariff plus 20% VAT on the import value. Production machinery is generally treated more favourably than consumer goods, and some capital-equipment relief may apply — but rates and provisions change, so model the landed cost with an Armenian broker before committing to a purchase.
EAC certification for machinery
Machinery placed on the EAEU market falls under technical regulations covering machine safety, with EAC marking and supporting documentation required. Ask the Chinese manufacturer what EAC documentation they can provide; where they cannot, certification can be arranged through an accredited body — plan it during production, not after arrival.
Electrical specification
Confirm voltage and phase against your workshop's supply before production. Armenia uses 230/400V 50Hz, which is generally closer to Chinese export specifications than the US market is — one genuine advantage of this corridor over importing the same machine to America.
Bonded transit through Georgia
The machine moves under customs transit from the Georgian port to clearance in Yerevan. Accurate invoices, weights and technical documentation keep the border crossing routine rather than a delay.
